Synopsis
The popular notion of the producer is of the person who funds the film. But the producer also goes above and beyond the finances to creatively mount the film – to make it possible. As films are increasingly pulled in many directions by international co-productions, and as the landscape of funding and grants has shifted, the role of the producer has shifted, changed, and grown in importance. And increasingly, the role of the executive producer, too, has become prominent as a voice that can push the film through festivals, the distribution network, and streaming platforms.
