Synopsis

Every year, legendary producer Jeremy Thomas makes a pilgrimage to the Cannes Film Festival. Accompanying him on the journey, director Mark Cousins offers an intimate portrait of the icon behind cinema’s most acclaimed and provocative classics. Blending personal musings with reflective stories, the documentary explores Thomas’s storied career, his passion for film, and his collaborations with visionary directors like Nicolas Roeg, Bernardo Bertolucci, David Cronenberg, and Takashi Miike, celebrating a true auteur among auteurs. DIFF Directors Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam first met Jeremy Thomas in 1992, and he supported their work ever since. He joined the DIFF Board of Advisors in 2025. His steadfast championing of independent cinema will be deeply missed.
