Synopsis
Commercial cinema obsesses over return on investment, leaving thoughtful stories unmade and inaccessible to most of the country. Janato Cinema approaches storytelling differently, treating films as public spaces rooted in constitutional values of dignity, equality and fraternity. But getting these films to audiences is an uphill battle. In an open conversation, Narayan Krishnaswamy unpacks Janato Cinema’s journey of making its own films and shares how emerging and established filmmakers can collaborate with the foundation to pitch poignant, dignity-centered narratives.
